Why I Love And Hate Private Servers

Private servers are amazing, but at the same time very frustrating and disappointing. Today I’ll talk about my love/hate relationship with them.

  1. I can understand your frustration with a lot of private servers, I haven’t been able to play many private servers except for the biggest ones I know have a good reputation. I despise new WoW and even these classic servers aren’t doing it for me either, maybe WotLK Classic will change that but idk they just don’t feel the same. I’ve recently had some fun in my own private server just questing and playing through the game alone, but it would be nice to get a nice experience again, at this point maybe it will just never be the same.

  2. Which ones are worth playing on? I’ve joined about 4 private servers over the last couple years and the toxicity and gold selling is wayyyyy worse on these servers than on Classic.

  3. The biggest issue for me is the lack of PvE servers. It's just insane how toxic and unfun PvP servers are to play on. You can't go 5 minutes without getting ganked in a contested zone. I remember especially suffering back when playing Molten-WoW in 2013-2014, I still have PTSD from seeing enemy players, because of the endless ganking on that server.

  5. word. it's kind of my attitude towards everlook; i love that people are passionate and want to bring back the good ole days, but at the same time the community is hostile and toxic and just wants to shit on noobs… when i think the community should try their best to grow their playerbase. thank you for being real HW
